How Verde & Well Came Into Being

It all began with something simple: self-care.

My wife, Mai Tran, spent years working as a cabin crew member. It’s a glamorous job on the surface, but behind the scenes, it can be tough on the body. Long flights, little sleep, constant jet lag, and months of changing climates took their toll.

Every now and then, her skin would lose its glow, her hair would weaken and fall, and even her scalp would react from wearing her cap for long hours with minimal sunlight and constant infrared exposure inside aircraft cabins.

That’s why she needed products that could genuinely care for her—not just cover up the problem, but truly heal and restore.  

That’s what she found in Cocoon Vietnam’s products.

Their gentle, plant-based products helped her skin and hair recover. They were kind, nourishing, and comforting; exactly what her body needed through those long, demanding days.

So, each time her route took her to Vietnam, she made sure to stock up and bring back the products she loved to Dubai.

Later, she got promoted to First Class. It was an exciting milestone, but that also meant her routes changed, and with them, her access to the brand she trusted most. Suddenly, something that had become part of her self-care ritual was no longer within reach.

It was a big deal. Because she didn’t only love Cocoon’s products — she depended on them. They worked wonders for her when nothing else did.

That’s when we started thinking: why should care this good be so hard to find? Something had to change. 

Cocoon’s formulas were already loved across Asia, yet they hadn’t reached the Middle East, a region where many face similar challenges: long working hours, constant travel, sun exposure, and environmental stress that take a toll on skin and hair alike. 

I (Mahmoud) had long wanted to start a meaningful business, and Mai’s experience gave it direction.

The Vietnamese ingredients, the textures, the scents: it was a wellness experience we hadn’t found elsewhere. And we wanted to share that.

So we decided to bring the quality and effectiveness of Cocoon’s products home in the Middle East — products that care for your skin like medicine would, without feeling medicinal.  

That’s how Verde & Well was born: from one woman’s need for care, and a shared belief that beauty shouldn’t be a hassle or a luxury reserved for a few.

A Name Grown from Intention

When we were choosing a name, we wanted something that felt simple, honest, and true to what we stand for. 

That’s how Verde & Well came to be.

Verde means green in Spanish. It’s a word that reflects our deep respect for nature and our belief that beauty and sustainability can go hand in hand. It felt right for what we hoped to build: a brand that values both care for the planet and care for the people who use our products.

Well completes the story. It’s a reminder that wellness sits at the heart of everything we do and that true beauty begins with feeling well, inside and out.
